Saturday On-site Volunteer Options

Please organize your own group and come armed with supplies to the following Volunteer Sites:

Unitarian Church of SI 312 Fillmore St Requests for Volunteers at Unitarian Church of SI: Please come to help out 12pm-3pm

Crossroads Church 168 New Dorp Ln Requests for Volunteers at Crossroads Church: Please come to help out!

Rab’s Country Lanes 1600 Hylan Blvd. in Dongan Hills Requests for Volunteers at Rab’s: Please come to Rab’s to help out!

Please just show up. If you are concerned about being useful just make sure to bring your own supplies to distribute. Our main headquarters are at 312 Fillmore St.

From Manhattan:

S74 from Bay St (left of Boro Hall from the ferry terminal) toward Bricktown Mall goes to New Dorp in 20-30 minutes.

Unitarian church: From the ferry terminal, walk north along Richmond Terrace, turn left on Clifton Avenue, right on Fillmore. We are in the main space 12pm-3pm.

  • see above list under drop off sites. any all supplies will be useful. don't hesitate. People have no power may not have water, probably hungry and cold. yard clean-up supplies could probably be used as well.

  • Two car loads of supplies with four adults coming to you tomorrow morning from NJ. Is Unitarian Church the best first stop? Will people be able to direct us into community to deliver supplies from there?

  • The Unitarian Church is a collection site on the north shore. Volunteers should go to the other locations listed. Donations at the Unitarian Church will be taken to where they are needed.

  • Is there anything younger volunteers could do, 8 yr olds? sort clothes, hand out supplies, rake etc up streets..for Sunday, several hours in the am? Thanks
